About 6:35am PST a lone gunman shot multiple persons at the San Jose Valley Transit Authority maintenance yard. There have been several fatalities including the gunman by suicide.
Unconfirmed reports state the shooter was a VTA employee and the shooting occurred before the start of the morning shift.

The Santa Clara Sheriff’s Dept., Mayor Sam Liccardo and VTA Chairman Glenn Hendricks all made preliminary statements but details are scant.
